Release 2023.8.17

Overview

Release 2023.8.17 contains a major update to the UX for search/tables, a new set of icons for platform entities, as well as some bugfixes and improvements. We highlight (1) New UX, codename “DataGrid”, with simplified flat tables (all items on one level), a right-click context menu, an added ability to use focus actions on mouse hover, new color scheme. to make the navigation around the app more intuitive, (2) a new icon set is introduced throughout the web application, and (3) added support for Quantum ESPRESSO v7.2 DFT+U calculations with hp.x for Hubbard U calculations.

Features

• New layout and UX for all Entity tables: “DataGrid”. Simplified tables to be flat (all items on one level). Added right-click context menu. Added ability to use focus actions on mouse hover. Introduced new color scheme.
• The Entity icon set (Materials, Jobs, Workflows, etc.) is updated throughout the application
• Quantum ESPRESSO 7.2 with hp.x support added allowing for DFT+U calculations

Improvements

• Inform users when a cluster's cloud platform is having availability issues, including due to spot pricing
• Show convergence results for each iteration
• New streamlined UI for 3D material viewer dropdown
• Add link to “Properties” in the sidebar

Fixes

• Fix never-ending loader after modal submit
• Fix: wrong file permissions for user-uploaded pseudotentials leading to job failures
• Other minor bugfixes

For Developers

• API examples updated with new versions of dependencies and asserted operational status
• Multiple updates to the open-source packages, multiple new packages created
