Pranab received PhD in condensed matter physics from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. Currently, he is a senior research fellow at the National University of Singapore. Primarily being an experimentalist he finds current simulation methods and, in general, high-performance computing a bit too complex. Besides his roles and responsibilities at NUS, he is taking on to the challenge of bringing complex computational models to Mat3ra platform so they can even be used by experimentalists and users who are not experts yet.
